Pre-Assembled BLAST database BioCanvas
comes with a comprehensive set of 72 prokaryotes pre-loaded and pre-blasted against
one another. Researchers can import their own organisms using genbank, protein fasta
or dna fasta files. Using our distributed BLAST the new genomes can be BLASTed
against the entire existing database quickly and easily. The resulting database
can be viewed and mined in several different ways using the intuitive graphical
user interface.

Contig Assembly BioCanvas provides sophisticated
assembly methods to link together raw contigs. The user selects a base organism and
the contigs for the new organism are assembled and scaffolded against the second.
Users can use the automatic assembly options to map their contigs and examine
and accept or reject the algorithms output. Additionaly users can move contigs
around in the assembly.

ORF Finding BioCanvas uses ORF finding with
organism training models to pedict ORFs from DNA fasta files. Sequence data can go
right into the application and a genome created in minutes.

Integrated and Distributed BLASTUsing our distributed BLAST
the new genomes can be BLASTed against the entire existing database quickly and easily.
At optimal configurations up to 20 genes per second can be BLASTed against the database
of 72 organisms.
